OUR HISTORY

In 2002 Rev. Harris was awaiting sentence on a drug related crime. God spoke to Rev. Harris and told her to write this vision down. 1 house, 3 bedrooms, 6 women and different barriers that would affect them returning back into society successfully. In her obedience to God Rev. Harris wrote down what would later become the blueprint for Rhama Word House a non-profit organization that transitions women back into society through the Word of God.

In 2009 while completing an internship at Lansing Community College as a Community Service Coordinator, Rev. Harris noticed a need for the women that were participating in the Work-first program. With the approval of her immediate supervisor Rev. Harris developed an open women's support group that met weekly and focused upon women's issues and how they affected the ability to obtain employment and keep it. This group would later become the basis for the contractual program that operates inside of the transitional home now known as P.E.T.A.L.S ( Preparing Everyone to Advance Lead and Succeed ).
